The Cripple of Inishmaan

Hello Everyone!

I wrote a post a while ago about the amazing pieces in Zara and a particular fashion pursuit: the Rustic Combination Linen Coat. I said I couldn't find it anywhere, it was sold out on the website, it was nowhere to be seen in the shops, but knowing it was a fairly recent item I knew it was somewhere. Against the odds, I FOUND IT! I found my lovely coat. It took a delivery from Barcelona, but I found it and I am beyond ecstatic with it. It is just beautiful! I wore on a recent trip to London - I'm very unphotogenic, so be kind with these photos!

Coat - Zara | Top & Jeans - Topshop | Shoes - Office | Lipstick - MAC 'Morange'

It's the perfect summer coat. Fellow Englanders will know that our lovely country has a tendency to be boiling hot and sunny for about week and that's it and having a coat that is light, beautifully patterned and colourful is a great way of feeling summery even if the weather isn't up to it! I wore the coat with my lovely dark grey Super Soft Leigh jeans from Topshop which I got in the sale and were a bargain at £25 from £40 and my Blur T-shirt of their album cover 'Parklife' which I also got in the sale from Topshop for £10! Amazing, I absolutely love it!

I have also become OBSESSED with orange lately so when I saw these lovely shoes from Office on sale for £25 they were mine. And I finally got the chance to wear my orange MAC lipstick 'Morange' which is gorgeous! It's so summery and I love the fact it's got red running through to make it a dark orange it as opposed to having a light orange; I don't suit light shades very well. The coat though - isn't it incredible! And if the coat itself isn't good enough, look at the lining!! It's a work of art. This item is a little beauty - well done Zara!

I wore the coat to see 'The Cripple of Inishmaan' at the Noel Coward Theatre in London, starring Daniel Radcliffe. The show was amazing - it was really comedic, completely un-PC, moving, heartbreaking and tear-jerking. Daniel Radcliffe was brilliant, I have so much respect for him as an actor now; he was really convincing as an Irish lad and in his movements as the cripple (in this case, a sufferer of cerebal palsy) - I was completely starstruck! I am definately going to see it again and if anyone else around London is interested, the show is running until 31st August. There may be a few tickets left but it has been incredibly popular so nab the chance while you can!

What do you think of my coat and have any of you seen The Cripple of Inishmaan?

A day in London

Hello Lovelies!

Me and Lizzie, who is Awkward Queen, went to London last wednesday. I think we'd been planning to go London for a couple of months, but have never had the opportunity, so we decided to make a date during the week, made sure we weren't working etc and finally went! It was a really lovely day. We went to Oxford Street (obvs), Carnaby Street, Covent Garden and then got thoroughly lost in Kensington when we went to Harrods. We saw some interesting sights and bought myself some lovely purchases. I probably spent way too much money but it was definitely worth it!

Good ol' Shakespeare looking out from the 'Shakespeare's Head' in Carnaby Street

The Choccywoccydoodah shop in Carnaby Street - chocolate heaven! If you've seen the program you'll know.
Then we trundled to Covent Garden where there are several floating people. Here's Yoda, who was kind enough to wish me peace!
This guy was hilarious and was our view whilst we had lunch. I want to be his friend!
We ate lunch at '21' whose food was really scrummy which was a nice surprise. If you like pizza, this is a good place!
The purchases I made! Some gorgeous vintage Levi's denim shorts from Rokit for a beautiful £24!! Plus 2 MAC lipsticks.

I got 'Morange ' and 'Impassioned ' which I am delighted with. I'll do another post reviewing their success another time :)

So that was our day in London! We also visited Harrods which made me go incredibly giddy seeing all of the designer clothes. The interior is absolutely beautiful, particularly in the areas where they sell food. We got severely lost inside and outside the shop and we managed to walk in a giant circle about 3 times. But if you are visiting London, I'd recommend Harrods a visit, even if you can't afford a single thing and feel like a ragamuffin going in! Has anyone else had a good day in London recently?

I'm going to see 'The Rite of Spring' by Stravinsky at the Royal Festival Hall for its centenary anniversary from when it was first performed, so I'll be sure to let you know how that goes! But for now, here is 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons which I have becomed obsessed with recently.

Make Up no.2

Hello everyone!
I've a bunch of new make up to talk about.Well it's sort of new; it's stuff that has gathered up over the past few weeks.

So, firstly, when I was in the midst of revision I had a mental breakdown and so I went to town to get a break. To treat myself I bought some new nailpolish: Barry M's Magnetic Nailpolish in Blue.

This nailpolish made me so happy. It's really fun, the way the magnet forms the shapes on your fingers of blue and silver. At some angles, the polish looks like it's in 3D which is really pretty and it like you got a Cat Eye marbles on your fingertips. The shapes turn out really well for the most part and although the shapes don't form over the whole fingernail all of the time, I still love it. At £5 a pot, I think it's really reasonable for the quality, and even I was a bit wary of the price and I am incredibly stingy, but it's completely worth it.

Ahh, so pretty! I apologise for the poor photo but taking a photo with a big arse Nikon was quite hard! Hopefully you can see the outcome though!

The next pieces of makeup are on my face in the above pictures. By the way, this was the photo that I looked least like a bitch and even now I look like a bitch. Sorry, I'm really not one. ANYWAY, the first piece of makeup is MAC's Sheerblush blusher Tenderling colour.

I love this blusher. It's really light but it gives you just a bit of colour on your cheeks for when the light hits it. Plus, it's really good for wearing against heavy eye makeup or heavy lips coz it stops you looking like a whore :D However, being MAC, it is going to be expensive, which is certainly the case in this product at £17.50. I'd buy again if I could but I probably can't for a while, so I really hope it lasts!

I'm also wearing the lovely 'brick' coloured MAC Lip Pencil and the incredible MAC 'Ruby Woo' coloured Retro Matte Lipstick, retailing at £10.50 and £14.50 respectively. More expensive products I know, but these two combined create the most wonderful red lipstick EVER. The colour is really warm and sweet, a real rosy colour. It's the perfect red for me: I'm really pale and so most red lipsticks drown my face and are a bit dark, so this is a godsend! Oh, and the lipstick has the most incredible smell - omg, the smell is so sweet. I would buy the lipstick alone for the smell - it makes me feel happy. The lip liner is amazing for creating a perfect line which is always good!

Anyway, I hope everyone is okay! I'll be back soon! I'm going shopping for holiday stuff tomorrow - so excited. Speak soon!
